    This harness for long distance skis consists of a base plate screwed onto the ski by three screws. Added to the base plate is a square box into which fits an extension to the sole of the ski boot. The boot is locked in position by a peg fitted on the end of a screw spindle, secured through the top of the box by a knob or wing nut so that the peg passes through a hole in the boot sole extension to fit into a hole in the base plate. The screw fitting can be replaced by a bayonet ended fitment of a spring loaded peg which automatically allows the peg to fit into the hole. The device can be mouled into the ski.

    (54) SKI FASTENING
    the boot 5 and protruding from its front, and the latch 6 mounted at the base of the plate, the base having a box-like shape corresponding to the shape of the plate.
    According to the first variant of the mount, the base has a naravl border 7, located at an angle (Fig. 1) to its side walls 8, and the retainer is made in the form of a rod 9 with a thread 10. The base and plate have coaxially arranged holes 11 (Fig. 3 ) to accommodate the rod, the base hole being formed by a threaded sleeve 12, 3 mounted on its lid 13.
    The base 2 according to another version of the warpant (Fig. 4) is mounted directly in the ski body and has a protruding front part 14 fixed under the top layer 15 of the ski.
    In the third embodiment (Fig. 5), the base is installed in the zone of the profiled thickening of the ski body, the base cover being flush with the surface of the ski. This ensures good aerodynamic qualities of the fortifications, and also prevents the ingress of snow inside the mount.
    According to the second variant of use, the fixing device is made in the form of a pin 16 (FIGS. 6 and 7), and the base and plate have coaxially arranged horizontal holes 17 for accommodating the pin, with the free end of the pin provided with a hook 18 for covering the other free end 19. Horizontal hole of the plate may be reinforced with sleeve 20 made of metal.
    In the third embodiment, the retainer is also made in the form of a stud, the end of which is provided with a ring 21, a protrusion 22 is provided on the base cover, and an elastic cover 23 with a slit 24 for accommodating the protrusion is installed in the ring.
    In this embodiment, the base has elongated guide rails 7, and for light weight, a hole 25 is made at the base.
    To ensure the elasticity of the plate, the sole of the shoe can be made of varying thickness, with the section 26 with the minimum thickness (Fig. 9) located at the junction with the plate.
    In order to alleviate the weight of the entire heel, the entire base and plate may be made of plastic material.
    To fix the boot on the ski, insert the plate deep into the box base until the coaxial holes of the base and plate coincide, place the fnxing element (threaded rod and: 1 and pinch) in the holes and fix the position of the boot.
    The proposed ski mount provides reliable boot retention, is easy to use, has a small
    weight and prevents the ingress of snow,
    which makes it convenient to use.

    1. Ski fortification, mainly for cross-country and tourist skis, containing a base attached to the ski, mounted on the bottom of the base and protruding behind the toe,

    6. The fastener according to claim 1, characterized in that the base of the shoe is made of variable thickness, wherein the section with the minimum thickness is located at the junction of the base with the plate.
